Judith Chapman was born in Greenville, S.C. The daughter of an
Air Force General, she spent the majority of her childhood living
outside of the United States. As a young teen, she caught the acting bug
and began her career in Spain. She got her start working in commercials
and "spaghetti Westerns." Chapman graduated with a degree in theatre
from Stephens College and continued to pursue her passion by moving to
New York and acting on the stage. While in New York, she also joined the
Actors' Studio and eventually landed her first soap role as Natalie
Hughes on AS THE WORLD TURNS. Chapman's daytime career continued to
flourish as she nabbed roles on RYAN'S HOPE, GENERAL HOSPITAL, ONE LIFE
TO LIFE, and DAYS OF OUR LIVES. She also worked on primetime, making
guest appearances on popular shows such as MURDER, SHE WROTE and MAGNUM,
P.I. and several made for T.V. movies. Her talents were also displayed
on the big screen in films such as The Sweetest Thing and 28
Days. She took a break from acting and taught at the College of the
Desert in Palm Desert, CA for several semesters, but could not stay away
from her love of acting for long. Soon after her brief hiatus, she
returned to her craft and discovered a new love...directing. Along with
her return to daytime, Chapman also hosts a travel show titled HELLO
PARADISE. She resides in Palm Springs, CA with her life partner, James. |

MEMORABLE QUOTES:
"[My hair] is looking a little Cruella De Vil-ish. It's very sassy. It's
not me. It's not what I would do in my private life, but it's a
fabulous, fabulous character" — On dying her hair for Y&R, Soap Opera
Weekly, 01/25/05"In my audition piece, I said, 'Just because I
enjoy being with men and just because I like having a good time, that
does not make me a tramp.' I think a lot of women would like to identify
more with the character because a lot of women as they settle
down...lose some of that feistiness that they may have had in their 20s
and 30s. All of a sudden, they look back and go, ‘Where's the pizazz?
Where's the passion?' That's why I love her."
